Frequently asked questions

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a powerful practice that uses intentional breath patterns to release suppressed emotions and clear emotional blockages stored in the body. In our fast-paced lives, unprocessed feelings can accumulate, creating stress and imbalance. Breathwork helps break down these emotions, promoting emotional release, clarity, and a sense of inner calm.

Breathwork & the Nervous System

Breathwork influences the autonomic nervous system by stimulating the vagus nerve, which increases parasympathetic activity (rest-and-digest) and reduces sympathetic dominance (fight-or-flight). Controlled breathing enhances vagal tone, lowering heart rate, reducing cortisol levels, and improving heart rate variability (a key marker of nervous system health). These effects promote emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall balance in the body and mind.

What can I expect from a physio Assessment?

All our treatments are 1-on-1 in a private setting and assessment are 60 minutes in length. We first work to get to know you, your injury, whatโ€™s important to you and what your goals are. We then consult where your stressors are, how your emotional system is managing and what. your stress release outletes are. Then we go through a full physical assessment of the area of concern as well as any potential connected and contributing areas. Followed by explaining our findings and working with you to come up with the best treatment plan. And of course! There will always be physio movements for homework and maybe even a journal prompt or two.
